Who's eligible
What's included
Miro is an online collaborative whiteboard used by teams for brainstorming, diagramming, product design, and remote workshops. The Education plan gives verified students at accredited institutions full access free for 2 years, with unlimited active boards and most premium features. Apply with an educational email and proof of enrollment; Miro reviews applications directly (no SheerID or UNiDAYS step).
- Unlimited Active BoardsNo limit on the number of active boards you can run at once — a significant upgrade from the free plan's board cap.
- Unlimited External Viewers & CommentersShare boards with classmates, teammates, or professors who don't need a Miro account to view or leave comments.
- High-Resolution Exports & Custom TemplatesExport boards at high resolution and create custom templates for reusable project structures — normally paid-plan features.
- Teams of Up to 10 MembersStudent Education teams support up to 10 members, enough for most class project groups, capstone teams, or student orgs.
- Fundamental IntegrationsConnect Miro with other common tools used in class projects through Miro's fundamental integration set.
- 2 Years of Free AccessValid for a full 2 years from approval. Renewable by re-applying with updated proof of continued enrollment.
Fine print & gotchas
- Existing paid teams can't apply. Accounts with a paid Miro team aren't eligible for the Education plan.
- Approval can take up to 10 days. Miro reviews applications manually, not via instant verification.
- Capped at 10 team members for student Education teams; video chat and email support are excluded.
- Free for 2 years, then re-apply with updated proof — without renewal it downgrades to Free or a paid plan.
